ASG Alumni Spotlight: Krystal Cleveland Enger

April 14, 2024 by admin

We continue our ASG Alumni Spotlight series, featuring former gymnasts and coaches who have all left their own little mark on ASG. It’s a fun way for current families to see the rich history of Atlanta School of Gymnastics and for alumni to catch back up with those friends (and coaches) they grew up making memories with. We have had a great response to those wanting to participate so hope you enjoy!

Today’s ASG Alumni spotlight is on former ASG gymnast, Krystal Cleveland Enger:

When did you attend ASG?

1990-1998

Did you pursue gymnastics following your time at ASG? If yes, where did you continue your gymnastics career?

Boise State University

What post-ASG accomplishments or highlights, gymnastics-related or not, are you most proud of?

Really enjoyed coaching team gymnastics, and proudly helping other gymnast receive college scholarships and fulfill their goals.

What is your current occupation?

Hotel Manager in Roatan, Hondruas; I moved to a little island off the coast of Honduras to pursue a simple life and couldn’t be happier with the choice.

What are your favorite memories from ASG?

Summer workouts, Olympic Closing Ceremonies, Team Travel

What lessons have you taken away from the sport of gymnastics?

Dedication, Goal Setting, Discipline to Accomplish Goals, Never Giving Up,

What are your current hobbies and interests?

Scuba diving!! Running, swimming, and the beach life. I enjoy planning trips as traveling has become a necessity for me.

Please tell us some interesting or fun things about yourself.
  • Became a scuba diver instructor after being scared to snorkel.
  • I try to visit a new country or two every year. Last year I went to Africa, a safari should be on everyone’s bucket list!
  • I have lived on the island for 4 years now. I originally had planned a 35 day vacation to take a diving course but I never left which may seem irresponsible to some but it was the best decision for me! I have no plans on returning although I do miss gymnastics in my life. I really enjoy watching all my teammates’ videos of their kids in the sport and the videos of kids I have coached years ago.
